STUDY/ORGANIZATION SKILLS/TIME MANAGEMENT

An organization plan is efficient for all students - elementary, middle school,

high school, college, and nontraditional adult students - so that the end result

of learning will be the ability to know and use what is learned. Incorporating a

structured study plan in the learning process improves overall performance.

Academic Instruction - We incorporate a study plan in academic instruction.

To teach study skills in isolation of curriculum studies teaches a splinter skill

(learning something without understanding application) Our study/organization

plan includes the following:

Identifying tasks and time parameters to complete assignments

                      Study Plan: Scanning techniques.
                                         Underlining/highlighting to retell story in fewer words.
                                         Reading techniques.
                                         Verifying data.
                                         Integrating information from multiple sources.
                                         Varying work effort for efficient use of time.
                                         Evaluating to identify work accomplished and
                                               remaining work to be done.
