MATHEMATICS

Testing - To identify math strengths and weaknesses, we administer a nationally
normed, standardized test. We request that a parent attend the test session
(elementary through middle school) to obtain a broad brush understanding of

        concepts tested.

Academic Instruction - Age appropriate materials are used to develop math
skills at the elementary level. Middle school, high school, and college students
pursue curriculum based instruction (instruction to teach weak concepts and

        application to each student's curriculum).

Most Requested High School and College Math Instruction

High School - pre/algebra, algebra, geometry, calculus and trigonometry
College - Pre/algebra, algebra, calculus I, II, and II, and statistics

MATH IS FUNDAMENTAL

Our math program provides opportunity for students to improve math proficiency by learning essential
foundation concepts and processing skills that must be applied for academic success. Math has strict application
rules that students must know and use in order to derive correct math solutions  This is true regardless of
            comprehensive level of math curriculum.
We find that students who struggle in math have difficulty applying math concepts. Rather than have an
understanding of concepts, students try to hold in memory computation processing skills to solve math problems.
However, by fifth grade, performing math from memorized processing procedures is not sufficient for math
success. Students must know concepts to move beyond a basic understanding of math.
In order to provide instruction for students experiencing math fatigue, we ask two questions: (1)What are you
doing? and (2)What should you be doing to achieve math success?
By identifying and teaching concepts and logic skills and incorporating them into grade level performance
expectations, students can achieve math success.
Our program focus is twofold. First, students must have opportunity to learn weak foundation skills.Secondly,
students must have opportunity to integrate appropriate concepts and processing skills into their current
            curriculum to achieve academic success.

We look forward to discussing with you academic services to meet your academic expectations.
